NECC Ning

As Videoconference content providers, I am always interested and focused on thinking about how one can participate in events virtually. This year I am asking the same question of NECC2009.
So here is a list of ways on how to best participate in NECC2009 virtually. If you see some I have left out, please comment and add them in.

1. Twitter: If you have not done so yet, create a Twitter Account and begin by following isteconnects. You can also follow me, as I explore NECC virtually I will posting on my experience.

2. Participate in Live Streaming and Chat!

3. Be sure to become NECC Ning member. It is free and you will be able to quickly locate your niche and join the groups. The first group to join is the Virtual NECCERs

4. head over to Second Life and be sure to go first to ISTE Island. They will orient you and quickly get you up to speed on how to use SL and participate in NECC through SL.

As I go through the conference participating and presenting virtually, I am sure I will be back in to add more to the experience of a virtual participation.

I found this particularly helpful, because I am currently being asked by my teacher to virtually experience NECC. I have been a little overwhelmed by this experience, and am not sure if I am "doing it right". Thanks for posting this!

Great point Walter. Thanks for adding that in. I think my next blog post will address this very thing. How to find a needle in a haystack if it can't find you.
