I'm known as that Linux guy. I'm a fan of open source software in schools and work actively in the K12LTSP and K12Linux projects. I'm also a big Drupal and Moodle fan. I'm hoping that teachers all over the world will create Moodle courses and contribute them to an Educational Commons where we can share and improve them. Visit MoodleCommons.org to see some examples.© 2009 Created by Jennifer Ragan-Fore

I am changing jobs to Beaverton School District next week and will now be working in a district supported by your ESD. I look forward to running into you.
Glad to see a fellow Northwesterner here. Hopefully we can meet up.
Part of the problem is that there are too many places trying to become the educational commons for k12. We need one place with some clout to bring all the small projects together. Who will it be?
I would love the chance to discuss this with you. Perhaps we could meet up at the conference, or if not then a call later perhaps?

I found your profile by searching other teachers in the Portland, Oregon area. I like what you say in your profile about wanting teachers to use Moodle to create courses and share them. I agree completely! I enjoy using Moodle and have created some courses for my 4th and 5th grade students. If you'd like to see, go to http://woodburn.eduhost.org. One was on chickens--we raised them in the computer lab, and one was on crustaceans. I used these for content while teaching technology skills and introducing the concept of distance learning to my students.
I look forward to meeting you at NECC.
