Hi, Richard,
Will you be attending ACTME in Augusta next week? I'll be there showing some of the features of the free collaboration tools and global community from ePals. We are working with Conservation International on some global projects right now, too. Your social studies students could go beyond the textbook to find answers to the questions they are interested in... from other students around the globe, who live in the places they are studying. Let me know if you have questions. Best, Rita
Hello I’m Michael Roberts on staff at the International Society for Technology in Education. We are in the process of identifying ISTE members who’ll be at the National Education Computing Conference (NECC) , and would be available to have their picture take for marketing collateral, such as membership ads, promotions of webinars, the annual report—and many other print and web pieces.
We wanted to check to see if you are attending NECC, and if you’d be interested in being photographed. We’ll have a professional photographer set up to capture images Sunday June 28th through Tuesday July 1st.
Members who have posed for marketing collateral say it is great to have the recognition from their peers when ISTE materials arrive at school. If you’d like to see an example of how we use the photos, please visit the front page on iste.org—there you’ll see a web ad for NECC featuring three attendees from last year.
It should not take more than 10 minutes to shoot your portrait professionally. We hope you’ll consider participating. As a thank you, we’ll give a $5 Starbucks—plus you’ll have the chance to a face for ISTE in the coming year.
If you are willing to participate, please reply to this message (photo@iste.org.) Once we know you’re amendable, we’ll send out a selection of available slots for shooting, so you can pick a time that works best with your schedule.
The two requirements to be photographed are that you are a current ISTE member and you’re going to be onsite at NECC 2009.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Michael

Hi Richard,
Glogstereduman on Twitter. Bates grad, former Mt Ararat teacher, and now Education Manager with Glogster. Are you attending NECC this year?
Thanks, Jim
Welcome to the ISTE NECC 2009 Ning! You are now an important member of a year round social network where educators can make plans for the upcoming conference and start discussions to continue on site as well as share tech ideas, resources, questions, and suggestions with other educators. If you can't attend the conference, you can still participate and find out what opportunities you can take advantage of without physically being there.
The forums are divided into general discussions and discussions specific to conference sessions, usually started by the presenters. There are over 90 groups ranging from ISTE affiliates and SIGs to groups discussing particular areas of ed tech as well as a NECC Newbie group.
