Birds submissions are now closed. See the timeline below for next steps.

Birds-of-a-Feather sessions are opportunities to engage in discussions about topics of interest. (They are not presentations.) Birds will be scheduled during the sessions times in the special topic lounges as well as at the following days and times:
Monday, June 29 from 4:45 to 5:45 pm
Tuesday, June 30 from 4:45 to 5:45 pm.

ISTE Special Interest Groups will also be meeting during the conference sessions and the Birds timeslots.

Purpose of the Birds Group
The purpose of the Birds group is to:
• identify prospective organizers/moderators, topics, or groups requesting meeting space
• identify collaborations between people with similar topics in mind
• gauge audience interest in the topics
• plan and develop the content (outline scope of the topic, guiding questions, useful resources, etc.)
• host results and ongoing information on the topics for a time following the conference.

Meeting space will constrain the number of Birds sessions that can be accepted. The NECC 2009 Program Committee will make the final decisions and schedule the Birds sessions into timeslots and locations.

Timeline
February 6–March 20: Contribute/brainstorm topics and requests for meeting space
March 23–March 26: Evaluate topics and potential interest, formulate collaborations
March 31 : Send out accept emails
Week of April 6th: post scheduled birds on ning

BOF Session idea: Are you "really" interacting with your interactive whiteboard? This session covers some instant ideas that can be modified for any subject/grade.
